News: Argentine Tango in Georgetown
Posted by Stephen on Monday, April 20, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 20, 2009—Georgetown, Texas—In a effort to introduce Argentine Tango to the community, tango instructors Mardi Brown and Stephen Shortnacy will teach a free introductory tango lesson at the Georgetown RunTex on May 20 from 8:00 to 9:00 PM.  Everyone is invited to come take their first steps and discover Argentine Tango.  RunTex is located at 809 S Main St.

Argentine tango is an improvisational social dance that grew out of the barrios of Buenos Aries in the early 1900s.   It was reintroduced to the rest of the world in the mid-80s.   With foundations that exist in the connection of the embrace and musicality of the rhythm, the dance continues to evolve from the traditional music and styles.

About Mardi Brown and Stephen Shortnacy

Mardi and Stephen have been teaching Argentine tango for two years. Both share their knowledge of the dance with others in the local community by teaching beginner and intermediate classes in Georgetown and Austin.
